Setup Fee
$18 per screen for the initial shirt printing order/$10 per screen to re-setup on future orders of the exact same prints. We do not have the ability to save screens, but we’re happy to offer the discount on re-orders.
We do not offer “free setup”, because there are very real expenses that go into that process. We try to keep this cost as low and fair as possible. Any company that advertises “free setup” is most likely compensating with a higher shirt price. We’re always happy to put together a full quote to compare the final price!
Color Swap
$10 to change a print color mid-run, but use the same screen.
Print Locations
Standard locations include Front Center, Front Left Chest, Back Center.
$1.50 per shirt for single color prints in additional standard locations. Price varies for non-standard locations and multi-color prints.
Why am I being charged for a two color print when I only have one color artwork?
When printing on most dark garments, a white ink layer is required underneath any other ink color in order for the color to show up properly. So if you have a red design on a black shirt, it’s actually two colors including the white “underlay”, even though you’ll only see the red! On designs with white ink in the design, we’ll almost always print a separate “underlay” channel in addition to the white within the design. Although this adds to the cost, the result is thinner, smoother prints that are less likely to crack or fade over time.
On your invoice this will look like “UL + 1 color print”, “UL + 2 color print”, etc
Maximum Print Area
Just under 13×19 inches. On multicolored prints, the maximum height drops to about 17 inches.
Poly-Blend Shirts
We recommend choosing 100% cotton garments for the best looking and feeling prints. The dyes in polyester-blend shirts can bleed into the final print and cause the print to look faded (we call this dye migration). There are some things we’re able to do to help prevent this, but you should anticipate slight fading and/or dye migration if opting for 50/50 or other blended garments. We generally do not print on 100% polyester material. We’re happy to recommend a garment that’s optimized for printing while also meeting your specific needs.
Colors and Color Matching
We can match PMS (Pantone) colors for $25. We recommend this if you need exact color matching, like if you have printed the same design with a different print company, or are matching artwork to CD/vinyl art or other print artwork. For exact color matching we need either Pantone coated color values provided by your designer or a physical sample for us to match with our printed color book. It’s not possible to look up Pantone colors on the computer or phone with any reliable accuracy because of how different screens portray colors.
Otherwise, we’ll do our best to accurately print your design as close as possible to whatever format artwork you send us. If you have any questions about print colors please let us know ahead of time!
Mockups/Proofs
Mockups can always be provided upon request. If there is any question on our end regarding artwork size, placement, color choices, or garment, a mockup will be sent for approval. Mockups are only an approximation of size, placement, and color portrayal. Garment type & color, print size & location, and print color values will be listed on mockups.
Artwork Requirements for Screen Printing
Vector artwork is strongly preferred for screenprinting. Next best is 300dpi resolution artwork sized exactly as big as you want it printed. You should be able to zoom in at 100% and not see any “fuzzy” lines! (Please do not just “raise” the resolution of a file by opening it and typing a bigger number. If it was that easy, we would just do it ourselves, but unfortunately you just end up with a bigger but fuzzier image. We want images to be as crisp as possible!)
If you aren’t sure, send over what you’ve got and we’ll see if we can work with it. Often we can vector retrace low quality images for a small fee.
We handle color separations ourselves. Usually we have to tweak a few things slightly to make sure the image works on press.
Turnaround Time
Standard turnaround on custom screenprinting orders is generally 2-3 weeks from the time the order is paid for until completion, but can vary based on the current workload. This does not include shipping time. We strive for exceptional quality and attention to detail, not blasting through orders as fast as possible. Please take that into consideration and try to plan ahead of time.
That said, stuff happens and RUSH services are available, priced depending on how quickly you need your order. We’ve turned stuff around in as quickly as an afternoon before. If you’re in a jam, get in touch with us and we’ll see what we can do to help you out.
Cancellations
Once your order is paid for, it’s considered finalized and added to our print schedule. To ensure we meet your deadline, we often order blank garments immediately. Any cancellations after your order is paid for are subject to restocking fees charged by our supplier to return unused blanks. Cancellations further down the line are subject to restocking fees plus the cost of any other part of your order that has been completed.
USA Union Made T-Shirts
We think using American-made products produced by unionized workers is the responsible choice to make when possible. You’ll notice a higher price per shirt than you may be used to, but those extra costs benefit fair-wage, American workers that take time to skillfully make each shirt. These are our favorite shirts, and what we print our shop shirts on.
We’re proud to offer union made shirts at a discounted rate because we believe in being able to offer ethically sourced, quality products to everyone. Listed below is the price per shirt at various quantities for white union made 6.1oz 100% cotton crew neck t-shirts. Bayside 2905 union made t-shirts are available in sizes S-4XL. XXL shirts are $2 more apiece, 3XL and 4XL shirts are $4 more apiece. Pricing includes the shirt and 1 standard location screen print.

We try to keep pricing as accurate and up to date as possible. Due to occasional price fluctuations and/or typos, the prices listed above are subject to change at any time.
